Boxing Drama Golden Boy, Starring Seth Numrich & Tony Shalhoub, Shifts Broadway Start Date

Lincoln Center Theater has delayed the first preview of Golden Boy by one day due to a loss of technical rehearsal time caused by Hurricane Sandy. The boxing drama will now begin performances at Broadway's Belasco Theatre on November 9, rather than November 8. Opening night remains set for December 6.

Written by Clifford Odets and directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, Golden Boy is the story of Joe Bonaparte (Seth Numrich), a young, gifted violinist who is torn between pursuing a career in music and earning big money as a prize fighter. The play originally premiered on Broadway in 1937 and has only been revived once, in 1952 at the ANTA Playhouse (now the August Wilson Theatre).

The cast also includes Tony Shalhoub, Yvonne Strahovski, Danny Burstein, Dagmara Dominczyk, Michael Aronov, Danny Mastrogiorgio, Anthony Crivello, Demosthenes Chrysan, Sean Cullen, Ned Eisenberg, Brad Fleischer, Karl Glusman, Jonathan Hadary, Daniel Jenkins, Dion Mucciacito, Vayu O’Donnell, Lucas Caleb Rooney and David Wohl.
